Remains of the Day: New Passcode Exploits Found on Galaxy Phones and iPhonesPasscode vulnerabilities continue to plague popular smartphones, Amazon debuts a read-it-later function for Kindle, Google Currents adds audio support, and NetNewsWire is getting a makeover.

  • New Lock Screen Exploits Discovered in both iOS and Samsung Galaxy Phones Today new lock screen vulnerabilities were found on both Galaxy smartphones and iPhones running iOS 6.1.3?which was released specifically to address this very problem. The Galaxy hack is similar to the bug found on the Galaxy Note 2 earlier this month, giving an attacker brief access to your home screen after glitching an emergency call. The iPhone exploit is more elaborate, requiring ejection of the SIM tray in the middle of an emergency call. Like the first iPhone passcode hack, an attacker will only have access to the phone app. [Talk Android/The Next Web]
